Working at Rollease Acmeda has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience. Coming in with no prior knowledge of the roller shade industry was the toughest part, but the unwavering support from my colleagues made it all manageable. There is a strong culture of teamwork and a shared drive for success, while genuinely looking out for one another. As a remote associate, I made it a point to get more involved by joining the Remote Event Planning Committee, which has helped me feel more connected to the broader team. To continually expand my product knowledge, I actively attend industry events and visit customers in South Florida. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role has been the seamless collaboration I’ve built with Jeanne Coscia (Regional Sales Manager) and Judy Vivona (Customer Service Rep). I have been working at Rollease Acmeda for almost four years as a Customer Service Rep. In my role, I regularly need input or feedback from various other departments. Everyone I interact with has always been very helpful and willing to offer guidance or direction whenever needed. Within the company and my team, I love that we all work together to support each other, whether it’s professionally or personally, people are there to help each other. For career growth, I was very fortunate to have been offered an opportunity to participate in a ‘leadership program’ with several other peers within the company. This program was very enlightening and surprisingly, the knowledge I gained, I found to be useful in work and home life! Aside from the work environment, I also appreciate how Rollease Acmeda plans activities so we can spend time with co-workers at social events, such as the Summer BBQ, Trivia Night, and the Holiday Party.

My longest secular journey has been, by choice, with Rollease for the past 23 years and counting. Our CFO, whom I had reported to in my previous position, called me to join him for an AR/AP position with a small company in Stamford, RollEase. I lived in Stamford, but I had not heard of this small window treatment company. I accepted the challenge, and I never looked back. Shortly thereafter, Kristin Smith joined our team and we became the “dynamic duo”. Her calm demeanor complemented my passion for keeping AR at its optimum. The goal of sales for the month of 2M was an unreachable goal but reach it we did. Balloons were released from the rafters in celebration. The COVID-19 pandemic created unique challenges; in such an unprecedented global event I was allowed to work with customers and continue to help them grow and to keep up with their demands.
I have traveled along this journey with talented professionals, visionaries, leaving an indelible mark on my career. I was never a silo but an integral part of the growth I see today.
If I could get a guarantee of another 23 years, I would take it immediately. Derick guaranteed! Here’s hoping for another 23 years.
